Peta Clancy'sVisible Human Bodies(VHB) will be exhibited at the Brighton Museum & Art Gallery in the United Kingdom from 30 April until 10 July in 2005 as part of the Brighton Festival.
Peta Clancy's body of works known as Visible Human Bodiesfeatures large-scale photographs depicting the human figure created using living bacteria as a drawing medium in an exploration of the potential for biotechnology to transform the human body. In the exhibition the photographs will be displayed within one-metre diameter circular light boxes. This will result in a stunning, eerie installation with metaphoric corollaries.
VHB was created whilst Peta Clancy was artist in residence at the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) in Melbourne. VHB will be shown as a solo exhibition at the Brighton Museum and Art Gallery from 30 April to 10 July. The exhibition will be an official event of the Brighton Festival, and is planned to tour to other UK venues in 2005/06.
