THE PERTH INTERNATIONAL ARTS FESTIVAL (PIAF) is Australia's oldest and largest multi-arts festival and the only statewide multi-arts festival in the country, celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2003.

The Festival has an enviable worldwide reputation in the arts for its innovative development, presentation of new works and provision of quality arts. Past performers and works include the Merce Cunningham Dance Company, Vladimir Ashkenazy, The Mingus Big Band, Deborah Warner, Jiri Kylian & Netherlands Dance Theatre, Robert Wilson, Sir George Solti and the Chicago Symphony, Miles Davis, Nina Simone, Stan Getz, Peter Brook's The Mahbharata and Philip Glass.
