David Carson is a new media artist based in Fremantle. He came to Australia from the UK in 1995 working in various art schools before becoming a full time artist concentrating on digital media. David has collaborated with many art and science organisations including filming the world’s first capture of the Aurora Borealis in 3D in association with the Sodankylä Geophysical Observatory in Lapland, Finland with UK videographer Brian McClave.

David has been an active advocate of 3D stereoscopic video in Western Australia since 1996 and is a passionate Mac computer user. He is currently Artist in Residence at Horizon The Planetarium in Perth. This is supported by Scitech and a Connections Residency Program grant from the Inter-Arts Office of the Australia Council for the Arts.
