Francesca Samsel was invited by Texas Advanced Computing Center to collaborate with visualization technologists at the ACES Visualization Lab at the University of Texas/Austin, in an exciting experiment to utilize the Lab's science visualization techologies for the purpose of art-making. Three new digital artworks with changing and flowing images were created from Samsel's drawings and photos. These works, along with those of three other artists, are featured in the Lab's free public exhibition, "Presence Absence;" opening reception on April 7, 5:30-8:00 pm and continued viewing on Saturday, April 9, 11am-5pm; ACES Visualization Lab, ACE Building, Room 2.404a, on the UT Main Campus. The exhibition is part of Art Austin's "On Site" Tour.
