Church Gallery, The

The Church Gallery opened in October 1999 after undergoing the transformation from deconsecrated, heritage listed church, to an exciting, new and innovative gallery space for independent, professional artists from Australia and overseas. The unique interior includes a mezzanine viewing level and an ingenious hanging system of panels and pulleys. The exhibition space contains twelve panels on two levels, measuring 2.2 x 2.4m each.The Church Gallery displays a broad range of contemporary art that is unique, challenging, critical and/or experimental. This can encompass painting, printmaking, sculpture, installation, jewellery, or new technologies. The gallery is owned and directed by Helen Morgan and managed and curated by Allison Archer.
